Presenter Bio

Mr Rowan Thorpe

Rowan is an Advanced Practice  Physiotherapist (APP) working in London. 

 

He graduated with his B.Sc in Physiotherapy from UCT in 2011 before going on to complete his M.Phil in Exercise and Sports Physiotherapy in 2017, where he was awarded a distinction for his dissertation. Part of his dissertation, looking at the knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAB) of SA-based runners regarding the use of analgesics, has been accepted for publication in the South African Medical Journal (SAMJ). 

 

Rowan completed his Community Service in George before moving back to his hometown of Durban where he worked in private practice for HG Physio. During his time there he was the physiotherapist at Kearsney College, and worked with the KZN U16 rugby team. 

 

In 2017, Rowan relocated to the UK to work as a musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapist in the NHS. He currently works as an APP and Team Lead physiotherapist for Connect Health, and has a passion for education. He has regularly taught on Connect Health’s accelerated development programme that focuses on upskilling new graduate physiotherapists in MSK practice. Rowan has a keen interest in rehabilitation and S&C. 

 

Outside of physiotherapy, Rowan is a keen runner and is learning to play the guitar.
