Alison qualified as a physiotherapist from the University of Cape Town in 2007 and obtained her PhD at UCT in 2017.
She is currently a full-time lecturer in the Division of Physiotherapy at Stellenbosch University.
Prior to joining Stellenbosch University, she worked as a clinician in private practice and was a contracted lecturer at the University of Cape Town.
She has both a strong clinical and research interest in paediatric and adult cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, critical care and pulmonary rehabilitation.
Alison currently serves and represents physiotherapy on several national and international committees.
She is passionate about gaining and sharing knowledge and has published and presented her work both nationally and internationally.
Alison is dedicated to raising the profile of physiotherapy as well as improving the health and quality of patient-care in South Africa.
