Course Content

Course Introduction and Welcome
An introduction from course presenter, Brett Phillips, and a brief outline of this online course on Training Load Management.

  • Course Introduction and Outline
    01:55

Module 1: Introduction to Load Management
In this module, Brett explains what load management is as a concept. He then goes on to outline the key concepts that you need to know in order to be able to monitor and manage training loads in your patients.

Module 2: Quantifying Training Load
In this module, you will utilise the key concepts learned during Module 1 to start to quantify training loads. This will include practical examples of how to monitor training load data daily and weekly.

Module 3: The Association between Training Load and Injury
In this module, you will learn how training load parameters relate to injury risk. This will outline the evidence-base in this area of research and provide you with a strong base on which to build your load management programs. At the end of this module, Brett will take you through a step-by-step guide on how to set up your own training load management spreadsheet in Excel for future use with your patients.

Module 4: Training Load Management for Injury Prevention
In this module, you will learn how to use training load management principles to prevent injuries in athletes or physically active individuals. The theory will be applied with the use of practical case scenarios.

Module 5: Training Load Management for Overuse Injury Management
In this module, we will link training load management principles to the treatment of overuse injury. The process of using training load management as a primary treatment intervention for overuse injury will be outlined, and then the theory will be applied to numerous practical case scenarios.
